Parquet engineered wood flooring: A look at our collection

10th Dec 2021

So, you’ve decided on a parquet engineered wood floor? Great choice! This style of flooring remains one of our favourite, and we're certainly not the only ones. Parquet engineered wood flooring is a fantastic investment, but we understand it can also be a big one. So here's our lowdown on our collection and some things you should consider when choosing a parquet engineered wood floor.

Choose parquet for timeless appeal

A parquet engineered wood floor can be pricier than a straight plank in the same wood grade, however it is well worth the investment. A parquet, or herringbone, layout will create an immediate style statement, whilst adding timeless appeal that will never go out of fashion. In fact, parquet flooring design goes back centuries and there’s certainly no sign of it going anywhere!

The reason why a parquet layout works so well is the contrast it provides to the otherwise straight lines within our living environments – from window frames, to furniture, skirting and internal doors; A parquet layout adds an element of intricacy which is pleasing to the eye. This pattern works so well with engineered wood due to the mostly balanced and calming tones found in natural oak which combines in perfect harmony with the parquet design and prevents the flooring from ever looking overly busy.

Consider engineered wood grades

At the Wood Flooring Co. we only use Living grade oak in our parquet engineered wood flooring collection. This is a more refined wood grade meaning that there are minimal knots and sap across the floor for a more balanced overall effect. We believe that wood grade can be particularly important when considering a parquet design. For example, looking at the image of our parquet engineered woods below, you can see that there are minimal knots for a cleaner appearance.

What makes our Parquet engineered wood flooring different?

At The Wood Flooring Co. parquet engineered wood is most definitely one of our favourite flooring styles. Within our collection you’ll find a select range of premium grade parquet engineered wood floors, manufactured in Germany and produced using responsibly-sourced European oak. Each of the floors in the collection has been hand-selected by our team of flooring specialists to combine the most tasteful tones with the cleanest grades and practical surface finishes.

Each of the planks within the parquet engineered wood collection have been manufactured with a click-lock mechanism for hassle free installation and a stable finish, this is particularly important for parquet designs which are more prone to movement than wide planks.

Remember that each of the floors within our collection also have complimentary door bars and scotia beading which have been colour matched for a complete flooring solution.
